The Vine is an intergenerational worshipping community in and for Haywood County. We are following Jesus on a journey of hope from our brokenness toward healing, wholeness, and restoration through the ancient rhythms and practices of the Christian faith.
Our church meets in Clyde, North Carolina in Haywood County, between Waynesville and Canton.
Pentecost & Ordinary Time
Pentecost, the long-awaited day in which the Holy Spirit was given to all believers, inaugurated the age of the church. Now, with the outpouring of the Spirit, Jesus’ followers are empowered to share the gospel with all nations.
After Pentecost, Ordinary Time begins and can extend to “the thirty-fourth week after Pentecost”! The word ordinary also conveys a sense of non-specialness, which is appropriate to the meaning of this season: the church’s ordinary life is characterized by the mission of God in the fullness of the Spirit.
